Hill Walking and Mountain Hiking

Individual day walks can range from 4-8 hours - but a lot will depend on the weather, the group level of experience and fitness. These activities are unlikely to be suitable for young kids, but those considering entering the DofE scheme may find them useful (14-18). Under 18's are welcome so long as they are accompanied by parent(s)/guardian(s). If you are not sure whether a trek will be suitable for a child please ask us. For a location map of the National Parks and links to their own websites please see here.

We offer guided one-off guided single day walks in the Peak District National Park, Yorkshire Dales National Park, North York Moors National Park, Lake District National Park or the North Pennines AONB.

These places can be ideal for those getting into hill walking and mountain trekking. There are the famous 'Wainwrights' in the Lake District National Park or the more recently published list of The Dales 30, the highest 30 mountains above 2,000ft in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

For multiple day walks we tend to include areas in the Highlands of Scotland and Snowdonia National Park in North Wales. For more information about the different areas and National Parks, please see here.

Next Scheduled Walks & Hikes

For the price you are getting an experienced and qualified mountain guide who will take responsibility for your safety, ensuring you have the right equipment, provide advice on equipment and hill/mountain craft for your own independent adventures, advise on different regions to visit which match your interests, provide some information about the landscape, flora and fauna we may encounter plus other interesting historical snippets if applicable! We can provide advice about accommodation nearby and transport options based on your budget. If you have any questions please get in touch.
What we can't guarantee is the weather which, in Britain, is notorious.

We grade our walks by the colour of the boot - the grading guide key is explained in the FAQs

No scheduled walks or wilderness treks will require rock climbing skills and will be suitable for most who have good fitness, rather than experience.
